It was in the year 1945 in Zurich that Armin Kündig laid the basis for a company which has since become one of the leading manufacturers of sanding machines

KÜNDIG aimed to develop edge and widebelt sanding machines of an absolute top class. Today they have reached this goal as various awards have shown.

The patented oblique sanding technique has lead the way to the future in the technology of widebelt sanding machines. Honoured with the Challenger Award at the American woodworking show (IWF, Atlanta, USA)

KUNDIG THROUGHFEED SANDING

The operation of these machines is very, very simple.

Rise and fall of the machine's upper section ensures a constant working level - an enormous advantage for one-man operation.

It also means that having set the abrasive grit dial and then simply entering the required stock removal, the machine is set and ready to go.

Panel thickness is measured automatically.

OBLIQUE SANDING

In the normal 90 degree position, the rotation is in the same direction as the conveyor mat.

The Kundig pivoting head allows the abrasive grains to operate at an oblique angle.

Slight faults on the abrasive belt are not repeated and intensified as they can be with the abrasive belt in standard position

Just like a knife or a plane in a slightly angled position, the drawn cut of the abrasive belt is more efficient and effortless than a 90 degree frontal cut. Therefore one can work with less pressure on the abrasive. As a result, belt clogging and belt consumption are radically reduced
