Vacuum clamping:

With the new vacuum clamping system in the sliding table, the workpiece is secured during the cut without manual intervention. A high powered vacuum pump activates rows of suction pods which hold the workpiece firmly on the sliding table. Each suction pod sector is individually controlled, and one press of a button is all that is required to release the workpiece. Vacuum clamping ensures that the workpiece is held firmly on the sliding table, a prerequisite for absolutely clean and precise cutting of the workpiece.

Sector control:

The suction pod sectors positioned along the length of the sliding table are individually controlled by the press of a button. The suction can thus be optimised for each workpiece. Panels of wood, plastic and non-ferrous metals can be firmly fixed to the sliding table. (The only requirement is that they have a flat surface which the vacuum can get a grip on.)

For large, difficult to handle panels, both heavy and light, vacuum clamping offers major benefits. Altendorf is the first to use this proven system in the context of sliding table saws. At the heart of the system is a high powered vacuum pump integrated into the sliding table, which activates the suction pods which hold the workpiece. Without the risk of sideways or lengthways movement, a clean, precise cut is guaranteed. Each suction pod sector is individually activated by the press of a button, so that the vacuum is only active where it is needed. Long mitre cuts in panel materials are particularly helped by the system.
